11/9/03 Tech Day

The goal: A ground control install for me, a Tein spring swap for Tom, and other misc work.
The players: Me, Sarah, Tom, Sam, Ben, and Mikey. 6 Miatas total.
The final score: 1 GC coilover kit installed (me), 4 springs swapped & ride height changed (Tom), 2 bumpstops altered (Sam), one seat modified (Mikey), and 1 heatshield cut off (Ben). It was a great day!

Sharka with new coilovers and 13" girlie autocross wheels installed

Tom's CSP killer to the right, Sam's blue turbo in the garage

Ben's 91 in the background (it'll be painted soon)

Sane vs. Insane ride height. Sharka's a little low...

Those black blobs in the background are stacks of tires

The shots are all Sharka-centric. I thought about posting these shots as a club-day event after I actually took them. Mikey and Sarah missed out on the photos.

As a side note: Sharka got a hybrid NB/NA suspension setup. NB shock tops and self-fabricated bushings (which sounds better than homemade) were used to gain about a half inch of extra shock travel on each corner. On a lowered Miata, shock travel is more precious than nearly anything. Cut NB bumpstops were also used. These are shorter yet than cut NA bumpstops giving even more shock travel. Sadly, this didn't work and I blew the AGX's in about 200 miles of city driving. BOO! Out came the AGX, in went Tom's HAs.
