The goal: 1.6 to 1.8 swap in Tom's new 1990 Miata.
The players: Tom, Sam, Ben, Dan, Sarah, and me.
The final score: Thwarted by a throw out bearing.

Baby, Pigpen, and Sharka outside. The 1990 (Snoopy?) in the garage. Notice Pigpen's new stripes!

Baby just got back from a drive (by me!) and damn, do I want a turbo Miata to go with Sharka now.

The engine is out! I remembered my camera kinda late...

This kinda set the mood for the rest of the day.

That is a DEAD 1.6 swingin' there. #764 ever produced.

Last minute prep before swapping the 2 engines.

This is the only way to change oil. We're doing it this way from now on.

Look how easy the filter is to get to! No relocation kits for us!

With the oil changed, nothing left to do but drop in the new motor.

Why don't the motor mounts line up? Hmm....

What if we try it Honda-style? No... not quite... Sure looks nice though.

Only one more thing to try...

OMG!!!!1!!!1!!one!! IT FITS!!!!!!!!!!!

Big project = big leftover parts. I doubt we'll need that.

Runs great! Um... we'll just push it to keep from straining the motor...
