  Calculators

Welcome to the cheez-y Javascript car calculator page. These calculators were created for a Javascript class I took a few years ago. The excellent air/density calculator at the bottom was stolen from a Mr. Richard Shelquist. I have not asked permission to use it, and hope to not get in trouble. Enjoy using these!

•The most excellent Corner Weight Calculator ever!

This file is also used without permission. Simply plug in the numbers from your last corner weighing and see the percentages!

Tire diameter in inches

Calculate Rear End Gear Ratio
Enter the tire diameter in inches, rpm's of the motor at a certain speed as indicated by your speedometer in mph. This calculation assumes the car's transmission is in drive or 1:1 ratio, no overdrive.

Calculate mph for RPM range

Gear Ratio

This calculation assumes the car's transmission is in drive or 1:1 ratio, no overdrive. For Overdrive cars mutliply the overdrive ratio times the rear and gear ratio. Example a 700R4 transmission has an overdive ratio 0.814:1. For a 4.10 rear end multiply 4.10 x 0.814 = 3.3374. Enter 3.3374 as the number for the gear ratio to calculate speeds in overdive.
1000 rpm mph 4500 rpm mph
1500 rpm mph 5000 rpm mph
2000 rpm mph 5500 rpm mph
2500 rpm mph 6000 rpm mph
3000 rpm mph 6500 rpm mph
3500 rpm mph 7000 rpm mph
4000 rpm mph 7500 rpm mph

Density Altitude Calculator

Air Temperature degrees F
Altimeter Setting inches Hg
Dew Point degrees F

Density Altitude feet
Absolute Pressure inches Hg
Relative Density %

Additional Information:

Click here for National Weather Service (NWS) information, including listing of hourly dew point and altimeter setting for US locations, in both English and Metric units.

Example:  at 5050 feet altitude, 95 deg F air temp,  29.45 inches-Hg altimeter setting and a dew point of 67 deg F, the Density Altitude is calculated as 9252 feet.
